Frank Lloyd Wright is one of the most influential architects of the 20th century. He pioneered a modern style and innovative uses of modern materials. His textile block system used precast exposed concrete blocks, decorated on both sides. At the building site they were bound together using steel tie rods and poured concrete. The Storer house, Hollywood, CA, (1923–24) is an excellent example of this technique.
